The Folk
Ensemble "Strugurelul" was founded in 1973 and performed it's activities in the
House of Culture in the town of Dragaşani,
Romania. "Strugurelul" means "grapes", named because the town lies in a region
rich in vineyards. The ensemble was made up of about 70 persons: dancers,
musicians, and singers. The ensemble performed in it's programme Romanian songs and dances in original national costumes. The musicians play characteristic instruments such as the cymbal, the pipes, and the flute. The ensemble performed in festivals organised at local, national, and international levels. The won first prize of the National Festival "Ode to Romania" in 1979. |
