Woog and Rosenhöhe, Darmstadt

Once in a while my co-workers try to get together outside of the office for a hike and/or visit to a local restaurant. Usually it's for around Christmas, but sometimes we can't get everyone's schedule to work out. So this year we skipped Christmas and decided to do it in spring.

At this time I've lived in Darmstadt for 14 years and in all that time I never visited it's biggest lake or the Rosenhöhe. So on this day I discovered a new side of my town.

The first and last pictures are of the lake. The others are of the Rosenhöhe, or during the walk to there and back. I had often heard of the Rosenhöhe, but I always thought it was just a living area for rich people... I never realised it had such a lovely park with interesting buildings. I guess when all the flowers, especially the roses, are blooming, it will be worth another visit.
