The Ship

The ships for the Nile River cruises are no luxory liners, but they really serve their purpose. The water in the Nile was very low during my trip, but most of these boats are flat enough to still travel. Those unable to had to dock at the nearest town and the guests would get transported to their destinations via bus.
We oftened docked with up to four or five ships side by side. They all have doors on the same level on their sides. To board your boat, if it's one of the farther ones, you just walk through the other boats! It was fun to see the main reception room of other ships. Some were quite luxiourious.
Besides the various categories of cabins, we also had a restaurant where we had all our meals, buffett style. then there was the bar room and another salon with a dance floor. We also had a small store which sold souvenirs. On the very upper deck was a roofed sundeck.
My cabin had two single beds, closets for storing things, a tv, a refridgerator, and a bath all it's own cpmplete with shower. The bedding was done fresh every day.

I even had a television! When we were docked in a town, I could receive ZDF! |

Every morning the clean up crew made these cute creations out of the towels and any other objects available! Every day there was a different figure.... soooo clever! And the crew were all men that did this!
