One of the reason we chose this cruise was the stop in Santorini.... a dream of Kornelia's was to come true.

The harbor of Santorini is actually a volcano crater. We had to take tender boats to the shore, then a bus took us up a very narrow, winding road (with opposite traffic!) to the top. The bus ride continued to the very picturesque town where we were able to walk around freely until just around sunset, when we had to reboard the buses. After that, we took a cable car back down to the pier.

no, that's not snow on the hilltops but the white houses of the villiage.... and once again we met the "Splender of the Seas".
