Venice, Italy

May 8 & 15, 2010

Our trip began and ended in Venice, Italy, where our flight from Frankfurt landed. We had no time to go sightseeing, which we would have loved to do, but our ship sailed right through the city giving us a nice view of the sites.

The picture on the left shows our first sunset during this trip.

The morning before our our return, on May 15, I finally cuaght a sunrise through our stateroom window.

We again floated down the same river, in pouring rain. It was the first day it rained during all of our trip!

breakfast time... so far, still sunny

didn't I mention it rained?

while our ship was already docked and we waited for our disembarkment time, we watched from our "comfy-corner" as one cruise ship after another passes us buy.... a parade of cruise ships!

The airport terminal in Venice was the worst mess then I'd ever experienced! Extremely long lines to check-in, then another long line to check in the bags, and then an even longer line for security. Luckily we were there early....

The return flight was just as uneventful as the flight over. The trip was smooth, NO waves, NO "ship feeling", NO need for barf bags. Of course I could have used more summer clothes then I brought, but you never know!
